Summary


Despite the critics who argue that Franics and Marbury cannot productively co-exist, they are currently superior to anyone on the Knicks' roster in terms of talent and production. Ultimately, the Knicks' hopes for a better tomorrow rest with Eddy Curry, whose passive demeanor has translated into him performing magician-like vanishing acts far too often this season. Curry has the tools to be a 17-point and 10-rebound per game operator. But he must develop an automatic money shot in the paint and become a better low-post defender. The 6'11, 285-pound 23-year-old is tragically foul prone. Shaquille O' Neal, on a night when he was far from his best, took Curry out of the game early in the first quarter, as the Miami Heat center simply outworked the Knicks center in a recent game at the Garden. Curry ended his night versus Shaq with a dismal four points and four rebounds in 17 minutes before fouling out.
