His threatened eviction from the location, a property owned by the United House of Prayer for All People, is not because he's behind in the rent. "It's their property and they know they can make more money from it if they get me out," Shange has said on more than one occasion and most recently during an appearance of Gil Noble's "Like It Is" on ABC television.
