Summary
As a "thank you to all of the staunch supporters of Mumia [and the Coalition] through thick and thin, over so many years and still hanging in there whether at our 'day after' demo back six months ago, at our day of lobbying in D. C. in June, at our five-day presence at the NAACP convention in NYC in July, at the Justice Department in D.C., marking the end of our FIRST stage of the Civil Rights Campaign, and at our many educational events, and just last week in the streets of Philly on December 9. YOU are always there!" declared Gwen Debrow of the Free Mumia Abu-Jamal Coalition, NYC.
"We will present a very brief update of where we're at for the next period. And there will be a huge holiday sale for meaningful, unique, holiday gifts, such as Mumia 's last book, 'Jailhouse Lawyers,' DVDs of "In Prison My Whole Life" and the rarely shown Howard Zinn-narrated 'Move' film."On December 19 from 1 to 5 p.m., there will be a Cop Watch NYC training session for community leaders and activists who would like to learn more about "Cop Watch" and for those interested in creating Cop Watch teams in their neighborhoods. The event will be at 4 West 37th Street, 2nd floor, between 5th and 6th avenues. The session is being facilitated by the Justice Committee, a member organization of Peoples' Justice for Community Control & Police Accountability. It will cover what "Cop Watch" is, do's and don'ts while on patrol, street team formation and roles, equipment needs and more.
