Keys On Hand for Launch of New Music Education Program

Summary


Songwriter and recording artist Alicia Keys, along with Martin Bandier, chairman and co-CEO of EMI Music Publishing; John Sykes, president of network development at MTV Networks; and Jason Flom, president and CEO of Virgin Records, recently helped launch the Syracuse University Bandier Program for Music and the Entertainment Industries.

Syracuse students welcomed the panel, which consisted of Bandier, Keys, Sykes, and Flom, and asked a variety of questions regarding how to get ahead in the music business. The panel agreed that success requires creativity and dedication to music. One idea offered was to complete an interesting package and resume and send it to the assistant of whomever you are trying to reach, because the assistant can be the key to connecting with the people you want to impress.
