He was a leader, a visionary, a groundbreaker and, in many ways, a true ambassador for Caribbean tourism through the tremendous cultural impact that both he and his music had worldwide," the Caribbean Tourism Development Company (CTDC) declared in a commemorative press statement.
"Byron Lee was always proud of hie Caribbean heritage, just as the Caribbean was proud to claim him as a favored son. He was a Caribbean institution for more than 50 years.
