Darwin Davis, president of the New York Urban League, was on hand giving out flyers and telling pedestrians about the benefits of the PPA. "It's about community health and healthy living," he said. "There are so many health disparities in the Black community and we need to take responsibility in ensuring we get what we need. The PPA covers a large number of drug brands that help with health problems that plague our community."

"I found out that it's not going to be free but it is going to be a very low cost for me," he said. "I found out that I'm eligible for Family Health Plus. I didn't know that before. Now for a 90-day supply of my medication, I will only have to pay $20 per prescription."
