"When I first showed them a video, they were rather reserved," said [Monica Elmore]. "But once they got out there, they had fun." And with regards to the questions being asked? "The questions were not easy. It took a lot of thought, and you had to pay attention in order to answer them." This sentiment, however, was not echoed by sixth-grader Joshua Morton: "The questions weren't hard at all!"

Clearly, the project was effective, because "the book was good before, but now it's fun!" according to Joshua. He was able to talk about the book in great detail at great length, which was the goal of the school all along--to get students excited about learning. "In order for students to achieve academic success," said Elmore, "they need to be exposed to all types of learning. The more well-rounded the kids, the more success they will have in the future."
