The Greatest Moments in 50 Years of Ny Road Runners History

Summary

There will be huge crowds this Sunday when the city becomes witness to one of the more competitive marathons in recent memory. Crete Wami, of Ethiopia, emerges as a favorite due to her close finish with Paula Radcliffe of Great Britain in last year's run. Radcliffe, who has nursed injuries all year, will be competitive, but probably not at her best. American Kara Goucher is a sleeper pick to dominate the women's portion of the race. She's the only runner participating on Sunday who's undefeated versus Radcliffe (her last victory against Radcliffe came September 2007 at the BUPA Great North Run).

The Top Five Moments in New York Road Runners History, a week-long fan poll, will lead up to this Sunday's 2008 ING New York City Marathon.
