In a media release, Tauzin noted that some of the drugs under development include meds that are designed to improve and extend the life of people infected with HIV and related illnesses. "As a result of HTV/AIDS medicines, a disease that was once a virtual death sentence can now be controlled and treated as if it were a chronic disease," he said.
