Julio Chavez On His Adios Tour

Summary

The legendary [Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.] returned to the ring last Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he won a unanimous 10-round decision over Ivan "Mighty" Robinson. It was billed as the "Adios" fight, the final fight of a legendary career.

This night was not just about Latin boxing but about handing down a Mexican legacy from father to son. The legend continued as Julio Cesar Chavez proudly welcomed his son, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., into the family business. Chavez Jr., while victorious in his first outing with papa, had very little time to show off any of his stuff. Chavez Jr. (18-0, 3 KOs) fought Adam Wynant (9-3-1, 3 KOs), a kid out of Indianapolis, IN, who looked like he would have been more comfortable bagging grocery or shelving produce than fighting, and knocked him out in 42 seconds.
