"It was good for Mt. Hope," said Brenda D. Jones, the organization's vice president of asset building and technology programs. "We wanted to give back to the community, and technology is the way to do that."

Actuated by the creed, "Access to digital technology is a prerequisite for entry into the modern workforce," Mt. Hope President and CEO Shaun M. Bell spearheaded the initiatives to keep Mt. Hope youth connected to the digital environment. "Our youth will tap into everything from homework help to college applications," he said.

"[The residents] are curious," said Jones. "A lot of people assume that low- and moderate-income people aren't interested in technology, but they are," she said.
