With Brandon Jacobs, It's a Question of Leadership-His Own

Summary

If the Giants are to gain redemption, it will necessitate [Brandon Jacobs] once again showing that he is still one of the best backs in the league, just as he did versus the Cowboys-a level the 6-foot-4-inch, 265-pound Jacobs has admittedly rarely approached in 2009.

Currently in his fifth year, all with the Giants, Jacobs developed the well-deserved reputation as one of football's most multitalented and feared runners. But this season, the Giants' rushing attack has been inconsistent, and Jacobs has only 722 yards on an unimposing 3.9 yards per carry.

[...] no one needed to remind Jacobs that his team's playoff hopes were wobbly and on the ropes when they took the field at the Meadowlands on Sunday to face the Dallas Cowboys, who at 8-3 were leading the NFC East and two games ahead of the Giants.
