Chants of "Black Power!" echoed throughout Harlem's National Black Theater this past Sunday to open up a tribute to 'Sistahs in the Struggle', that was sponsored by Maroon Records and the New Black Panther Party For Self-Defense. Women's Her-story Month began closing out with a presentation of a documentary film titled "Assata Speaks," and a forum that featured other present-day and future female freedom fighters.

Poetess prodigy Autumn [Bantin Ashante] declared, "There's no way I won't be free, you see," during her poem, 'I Am A Mighty Black Woman,' as she went on to define herself and command the respect she's due, "I bounce Black like winter never was!"

Another look into the future continued the visual word play when young sister Assata X recited, 'The Revolution Takes Over My Mind,' "It makes me think of revolutionaries of past times, The Black Panthers, The B.L.A., I'm telling you we're going to make it in time. They say history repeats itself, but I won't let it."
