Summary


Thousands and thousands of American baseball fans are becoming more and more accepting of the idea that Babe Ruth, the legendary Yankee slugger, no longer stands alone as the most awesome home run hitter in American baseball history. He was surpassed by Hank Aaron. Now another baseball hitter is on the cusp of surpassing Babe Ruth again. At least Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants has convinced his team and fans of the San Francisco Giants that he is, in fact, the man who is within one or two home runs of becoming one of the most powerful hitters in the history of major league play in America.

Within a day or two Barry Bonds will have surpassed the mighty Babe Ruth and ultimately will top Hank Aaron in hitting home runs and it will be up to history to decide who the world's greatest home run hitter really was. We opt for Barry Bonds. He got there legitimately and on time. There will be a question and a jealousy but not the hard rock conviction that a Black man could not have beaten out a white man in a test of strength and intelligence as a baseball hitter.
