State Inspector General Joseph Fisch unveiled a report last week that alleges several of Albany's highest-profile political figures bartered for political advantage and campaign contributions in order to award a contract to Aqueduct Entertainment Group (AEG) to build new video slot machines at the Aqueduct Race Track. The statement went on to state, Cuomo's silence does not alter the fact that the Aqueduct scandal is the latest example of an Albany political machine that routinely discards public trust in favor of political self-interest.
