Apollo Presents 4th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration On Saturday, December 26

Summary

Based on the tradition of the African harvest festival, Kwanzaa is a unique African-American celebration highlighting time-honored African values. Drawing deeply from the original purpose of Kwanzaa, "Regeneration Night" is a cultural exploration of those values-family, community responsibility, commerce and selfimprovement - through a forum of entertaining dance and music. After it was first presented at the Apollo in recognition of Kwanzaa's 40th anniversary in 2006, "Regeneration Night" was met with such enthusiasm that its success spurred the Apollo's producers to mark Kwanzaa with an annual event.

Back by popular demand, the Apollo Theater presents its fourth annual Kwanzaa Celebration with "Regeneration Night," a multifaceted, dynamic performance featuring the renowned Harlem-based dance company Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, under the direction of choreographer Abdel Salaam.
