What a difference an Alex Rodriguez makes. Since ARod's return, [Mark Teixeira]'s power numbers have sprung up a bit. After Tuesday night's win, Tex had hit six home runs and bat- ted in 15 more since the third baseman's return. A good chunk of that damage came during the Minnesota Twins series when he smacked three homers and produced eight RBIs, assisting the Bombers in three straight walk-off wins. While his batting average (going into Wednesday) remained a subpar .241, his OPS (on-base plus slugging) percentage sat at a respectable .894. It doesn't justify him making over $20 million a year, but Tex has proven to warm up along with the sum- mer months. Going into Wednesday's game, Tex's bat- ting average for the month of May stood at .281.
