Gushing, Ailey II dancer [Marcus Willis] says of the company's range of techniques, talent and repertory, "That's why I love Ailey so much. I don't think you can get that in any other company. Ailey is one of those companies that exposes dancers to different trainings and technique. I can't tell you one ballet anyone in the company does the same. You can do 'Revelations' every night and I can sit in the wings and watch three different guys do 'I Wanna Be Ready' three different nights and each time it will different."
Alia Crutcher's voice also bristles with excitement. "You get to wear so many different hats. You get to be so many different people in one evening," says the young Tennessee native who recently graduated from the Ailey/Fordham Bachelor of Fine Arts program. "I'm a sex pot in Scott Rink's 'Bitter Suite.' I switch modes with Igal Perry's more contemporary piece and then get to go to church in [Alvin Ailey]'s extraordinary classic, 'Revelations.'
