Summary
Lockhart was often relegated to bit parts, cameos or underworld characters in such films as "Cotton Comes to Harlem" (1970), where he was quite impressive as a notorious preacher. Ossie Davis directed this film, giving him a Hollywood first. Lockhart had a smaller role in "Uptown Saturday Night" (1974) with Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte, and later with the same cast in "Let's Do It Again" (1975).
